Drawing and sand on cardboard / 2012 / 30/25 x 40 cm

This series of works was inspired by the ancient maps drafted following the discovery of the island of Formosa (Taiwan).
After living there for a period of few months, I realized that in a way, Israel is also an island – “a cultural island”.
A country which is surrounded by Muslim countries which share different culture, while the only one common way out is through the Mediterranean Sea.
In my imagination, Israel as an island is a peaceful place with relaxed people and better life.
